Announcing new project with Nuru International in Kenya
The African nonprofit Nuru International has chosen us to help them strengthen agribusinesses in Kenya. The goal of the project is to create strong, self-sustaining cooperatives that can support local farmers and operations. The Nuru strategy focuses on local development that will be able to continue progressing even after Nuru leaves the area. By creating, assessing, and strengthening farmer cooperatives, Nuru helps the agricultural sector to grow and thrive.
We will conduct 7 assessments with our SCOPE Basic tool. Our assessments will be a part of the Nuru Kenya model. The model focuses on building strong cooperatives with local leaders in vulnerable communities that can turn into profitable businesses with Nuru’s support. By the time Nuru leaves the area, the cooperative is strong, profitable, and resilient. After our assessments, the cooperatives will receive training where they will learn best practices for management, starting a cooperative, and other important skills for their success. If the assessments go well, we will perform more with Nuru in the future.
