As part of a pilot project for the Bankability Metrics, Sundy Merchants Company Ltd provided capacity building to Tanzanian agribusinesses based on the results from their baseline SCOPE Assessment. This capacity building led to a significant increase in professionalism on reassessment. The results were shared with financial institutions to increase access to finance for these agribusinesses.
The Heineken-International Finance Corporation (IFC) project in Ethiopia worked to strengthen local malt barley supply chains in Ethiopia. The project used three Agribusiness Market Ecosystem Alliance (AMEA) Tools: IFC's Agribusiness Leadership Program (ALP), SCOPEinsight's SCOPE Basic, and SCOPEinsight's SCOPE Pro. Thanks to the combined efforts of Rikolto, SCOPEinsight, and Kampani, the Nicaraguan cooperative COOSEMPODA saw an increase in professionalism and was able to access the finance required to invest in its production and processing. COOSEMPODA has been able to grow significantly since receiving the loan from Kampani.
The Heineken-International Finance Corporation (IFC) project in Ethiopia worked to increase malt barley yields for Ethiopian farmers and improve their access to markets and inputs. Thanks to these efforts, yields more than doubled and farmers accessed USD 1.8 million in financing.
The Doni-Doni Project was a multi-stakeholder initiative between the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Cargill, La Société Ivoirienne de Banque (SIB), SCOPEinsight, and TechnoServe that worked to improve access to finance for farmer organizations in Côte d'Ivoire. The 56 participating farmer organizations saw many benefits, including a significant increase in professionalism and over USD 4 million in financing.
