You are the new Operational Manager for SCOPEinsight, the spider in the web. Because you will help the team to focus on their core business, you will help bring sustainable change to the global agricultural sector.
As an Operational Manager, your job can be divided into two activities. On the one hand, the HR and process optimization where you will be responsible for facilitating an environment where people can excel, learn, and develop. On the other hand, you will manage the optimization of processes for the further professionalization of the organization.
About the position
You will join a young, diverse, and highly motivated team, with you playing an instrumental role in further professionalizing and structuring the company. Internal structures and processes need to be developed, implemented, maintained, and/or professionalized. You will be co-creating a future proof strategy and will be involved with the day-to-day management of the organization. In your role as an Operational Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- ● Strategy development (20%): Together with the COO, you will be asked to co-create a future proof strategy. On a day-to-day basis, you will make sure that strategy goals are adhered to. You will align all internal processes of the organization to make sure that the developed strategy is successful. You will be expected to advise the COO on matters requiring escalation.
- ● Operational management (50%): You will be coordinating and administering meetings within the organization to make sure internal processes are aligned. You will be creating and updating workflows and will also be working on operational issues such as Finance, HR, and Office Management. You will be asked to develop and operationalize HR processes. You will be working closely with the Finance Manager to produce reports that ensure project and company administration are in line with project and company finances. In your role, you will be the spider in the web connecting the different parts of the organization together.
- ● Team management (30%): You will be asked to coach and assist the team in their professional development. This will include check-ins, assisting with personal development plans, and chairing performance reviews.
Qualifications
We have learned that diverse backgrounds in our team lead to the best results. Therefore, we do not have any expectations on specific educational background. What we do expect you to bring:
- ● Required:
- – A work permit to work in the Netherlands;
- – A minimum of 8 years’ experience, of which at least two in a similar Operational Manager role;
- – Excellent command of the English language;
- – Experience with quality management and certification (e.g. ISO 9001);
- – Entrepreneurial-minded professional with a growth mindset;
- – Organized and able to create a clear progress reporting plan;
- – A team player with cultural sensitivity;
- – Leadership skills and/or ready to (further) develop these skills.
- ● Preferred:
- – Knowledge of our CRM and project management system TeamLeader
