Announcing new project with Rikolto in Ecuador and Honduras
The global non-profit Rikolto has chosen us to help them professionalize agribusinesses in Ecuador and Honduras. The goal of the project is to strengthen two important value chains in these countries: coffee and cocoa. These value chains constitute a significant part of the local agricultural sectors and employ many farmers. By strengthening them, many local farmers will see significant benefits, including market linkages.
We will conduct 8 assessments with our SCOPE Pro tool and 4 with our SCOPE Basic tool. Since both cocoa and coffee are important and profitable value chains, professionalizing these agribusinesses will have significant benefits. These efforts can also increase youth inclusion and employment in the sector. After the assessments are complete, Rikolto will train the agribusinesses to improve their business practices. Once the agribusinesses are professional, Rikolto will facilitate linkages to export markets.
