What to expect when you work with SCOPEinsight
From picking the right assessment tool all the way through getting the final assessment report, we ensure the highest quality of service for our clients. This is the client journey at SCOPEinsight.
Choose an assessment tool
When you are ready to use an evidence-based method to advance farmer professionalism, your first step is choosing which assessment tool is right for your target group. SCOPEinsight offers four assessment tools to meet the needs of the sector: the SCOPE Input Retailer®, SCOPE Agent®, SCOPE Basic®, and SCOPE Pro®. Each tool has a different target group. SCOPE Input Retailer is used for last-mile input suppliers, SCOPE Agent is used for field agents and lead farmers, SCOPE Basic is used for emerging farmer organizations, and SCOPE Pro is used for agri-SMEs with management boards and three years of financials.
You do not have to pick your assessment tool on your own. Sometimes, it can be difficult to know which tool is best suited to a project, but we have a tool selector to help you. After answering a few questions, our selector can recommend the most applicable tool for your project. If the selector is unable to give a straightforward recommendation, then our team can offer personalized help in choosing a tool.
Get your assessors trained
Once an assessment tool is chosen, you identify your assessors based on the criteria we give you and schedule the training. Our training is 100% virtual and is easy to follow. After successfully completing the course, the certification is valid for one year and can be renewed upon expiration. If the tool SCOPE Pro is being used, then a financial specialist must be trained for the assessment, as SCOPE Pro also assesses financial performance.
Using the SCOPE Dashboard, you plan out the assessments. The SCOPE Dashboard is an online tool that you can use to assign assessors to an assessment and to monitor the assessment process. At any point in the project, you can use the Dashboard to check the progress of the assessments.

Conduct the assessment
Once the assessors have been certified and the assessments have been planned, it is time to conduct the assessments. We encourage assessors to introduce themselves to the agribusinesses before visiting them; this way the agribusiness knows the intention of the assessment, how the results will be used, and how long it will take. The assessor visits the agribusiness and interviews the management and workers. The amount of questions varies depending on the assessment tool chosen, as do the questions themselves. Additionally, assessors do visual checks (of equipment and storage units, for example). The assessor inputs all of this data into the SCOPE App, a program designed specifically for this purpose.
Quality Control
Data quality is at the core of our promise to clients. Once the assessment is completed, the data is sent to a quality controller. The quality controller carefully checks the data to ensure it is accurate and understandable. Often the quality controller will ask the assessor qualifying questions and correct any inaccuracies. The quality controller also rates the assessor, and this rating is provided back to the client.
Receive the report
Once the quality control is completed, we issue a draft report. The assessor will bring this report to the assessed organization for feedback and approval. At this time, we also have a call with the program staff to field any questions and concerns.
After feedback on the draft report is given and addressed, we issue the final report to you. Once you receive your report, we ask you to do an evaluation of your experience and future plans. In this evaluation, you can share how effective you found the assessment to be, how we can help you in the next step of your project, and if you have any improvements for us or our process.
From assessor training to delivery of the report, this process takes an average of four to six weeks. If you have questions at any point in the process, our Help Desk and operations staff are always available!
